The news that Yuck were busy recording their second album were marred by the departure of their frontman Daniel Blumberg. He now presents another solo project, called Hebronix. ATP Recordings will release his debut album on July 8th, and here’s the title track.

Get Away is the second release from February’s self-titled debut album.
The Londoners are currently touring the US but will return to tour the UK in May before playing Glastonbury.

Oupa
So you know how I love Yuck. This is singer Daniel Blumberg’s side project, formerly called Yu(c)k and now called Oupa, for some reason.
Oupa’s got an album out in June, and it will probably sound completely different from Yuck’s fuzzed out lo fi sludge grunge rawk and more like these neurasthenic somber piano ballads.
Oupa’s first EP Weakend (as Yu(c)k) can be streamed on Oupa’s Soundcloud page.

Today may be The King of Limbs’ day, but Yuck’s first album, released next Monday, is an early album of the year contender. But that’s because the album, just like me, is a child of the 90s.

Je reparlerai de Yuck bientôt sur Music Box : leur fantastique premier album, mélangeant joyeusement Pavement, Elliott Smith et Dinosaur Jr. En attendant, ce groupe UK (si!) nous présente un truc très bon et très Big Muff (Coconut Bible) qui ne sera pas sur l’album, mais sur la face B du single Holing Out.
