Brick By Brick - Arctic Monkeys
Here’s the album version of the third track from the upcoming record ‘Suck It And See’. The rip we posted before ain’t got nothing on the quality of this. So put your headphones on, turn the volume up and get excited for June 6th.
HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PART TWO
Hot Sauce Committee Part Two by Beastie Boys
I haven’t posted here for a while, indeed. But I’ve made a Spotify playlist, as I sometimes do, but this time it’s devoted to the current biggest rock band in the world, Foo Fighters.
The playlist takes you for a trip around their whole career, with tracks from every album + selected b-sides and covers.
Feel free to follow me on Spotify for more playlists.
Here are the two Record Store Day Radiohead tracks. They could have fit easily on King of Limbs.
edit : you should rather listen to this pristine, high quality official soundcloud stream :

Just a small post to tell y’all that I’ve finally got around to make a Music Box Spotify profile, where I’ll post all sorts of playlists.
Already available are playlists from 2010, a special, career-spanning playlist from the Manic Street Preachers (more to come from other artists) and a brand new 2011 Q1 playlist.
Enjoy, and if you don’t have Spotify, get it as soon as you can, and if it’s possible for you, buy a subscription : the future has never been so cheap.
New Beastie Boys!
Make Some Noise
This wasn’t really part of the plan, but since this track is out there we wanted to let you hear it here first, or maybe second. Enjoy

Last Night I Dreamt that Somebody Loved Me - the Smiths
oh goes on…. and on…
edited with the official Soundcloud stream.
Looks like this is a stream of the new FF album. Can’t check right now, will later.
Rock on.
And thanks to my friends at Antiquiet.

Haven’t posted here in a while, for various reasons, blah. But here’s a new b-side (for Get Away) from my favourite new band of 2011, Yuck.
Nothing new again, but it’s just so good.
Doctors In My Bed by Yuck
Hello.
I have this tumblr for several weeks now, but most of you followers/readers are only here for about a week, thanks to my post on the new Eddie Vedder track.
I have usually 10-15 visits a day here (more on my main website, but not much), and it soared to over 4,000 for two consecutive days. Obviously, it’s going down now, but it was nice while it lasted + it got me quite a lot of new followers, who may wanna get an introduction of what I’m doing here.
First of all, this tumblr started in French, as you can see from some pages not in English. Why? Not only because ‘m French-speaking, but mostly because my website, Music Box, is in French. So I felt like continuing that way. But after a short while, I decided to switch to English, just because I wanted it ;-)
I may start writing reviews in English, as requested by some of you here and on my Facebook page. There’s more people who understand English than French anyway. And I think I like writing in English more than in French.
I’ll try to regulary post music and various kind of music-related stuff, just take a look at what I posted to have an idea of what to expect.
Also, I reblogged a picture about a week ago, about donating money to quake/tsunami victims in Japan. It was supposed to be 1 cent/reblog, etc etc. Now, I’m poor, but this was enough + I don’t wanna do the math ;-)
So thanks to everyone who reblogged and loved the post and the new followers, I’ll be donating 20€ at the end of the month + all my Flattr revenue. Not much, I know, but it’s all I can at the moment.
Anyway, enough for now, and a heartfelt welcome to my Tumblr and other webpages.
Guess what? More new Eddie Vedder!
This time, it’s a live recording from new song Sleeping By Myself, premiered a couple of days ago in Australia.
But I’m warning you, it sounds like it was recorded on a iPhone left in some 89th row’s dude’s pocket.
Then again, new Vedder, still ukulele, still pretty cool and beautiful.
I love this man, I love his band and everything he’s brought me, and I can’t wait for the album (or albums, if rumors of a new Pearl Jam album are to be believed)
Best lyricist since Morrissey.
NEWLY DISCOVERED Alex Turner acoustic performance of Fluorescent Adolescent, from an extremely rare Domino pressing of a Mix FM performance. Thanks to AMUS member ArcticMonkeys01 for this great find!
I have no info about the single, but Ed said at a live show a couple of days ago that the album is out in June. I’ll keep you posted ;-)
Eddie Vedder - Longing to Belong
First single from his forthcoming solo album, out in June. It’s said to be a ukulele album.
I have been waiting for the news to break on this one for YEARS. I was an early fan of The Darkness and am a passionate believer in the sheer brilliance of their campy + cheeky sound. Regardless of how people describe them, the simple fact is that it’s GREAT music, and…
thanks to the awesomely named We All Want Someone To Shout For!

So you know how I love Yuck. This is singer Daniel Blumberg’s side project, formerly called Yu(c)k and now called Oupa, for some reason.
Oupa’s got an album out in June, and it will probably sound completely different from Yuck’s fuzzed out lo fi sludge grunge rawk and more like these neurasthenic somber piano ballads.
Oupa’s first EP Weakend (as Yu(c)k) can be streamed on Oupa’s Soundcloud page.
Ok I said I would post this yesterday, and I’m late. Whatever, this song is nearly 20 years old anyway.
It’s an instrumental from Pearl Jam’s forthcoming Vs. reissue, called Creedy Stomp, probably because it showcases the harder side of Hendrix-worshipping guitar hero Mike McCready, but also the thundering power of former drummer Dave Abbruzzese.
I wonder if Vedder ever tried to put vocals on this.
Late this month, we’ll be treated to the reissue of two of my all-time favourite records, Pearl Jam’s Vs. and Vitalogy. Each one has been remastered and will comme with three bonus tracks each. Here’s one of those.
Hold On is a Vs. outtake, which remained unknown until its inclusion on rarities comp Lost Dogs, in 2003. The Vs. reissue will feature an acoustic version, with affecting vocals from Eddie Vedder and a rather fantastic overall sound, with a really nice instrumental coda.
Other bonus tracks are Crazy Mary (Victoria Williams cover and live shows favourite), a Nothingman demo, alternate takes of Corduroy and Nothingman and the unreleased instrumental Creedy Stomp, which will be featured here tomorrow.
I love The Joy Formidable, probably my favourite new band of the year. Or so I thought, and then I discovered their first release was actually in 2009 : the EP A Balloon Called Moaning. This track comes from even somewhere else, the bonus CD from the deluxe edition of their debut The Big Roar.
It’s an alternate version of album standout Whirring, sung in Welsh and with an ethereal, Cocteau Twins meets early Dead Can Dance quality. Mesmerising and totally different from the album. Please keep being that good.

On their second album, bands who released a fucking bonkers first album are supposed to calm down, right?
WRONG.
New album : Bring it ON.
Dananananaykroyd - E Numbers by WorkItMedia
Exactly.
Ok why the fuck has tumblr replaced the directory with, the fucking useless explore, at least with directory, if you were new to tumblr, and your main interest was music, you could find tumblr’s that were music based. With explore there is not even a music tag, it looks to me tumblr, wants to get rid of music based tumblr’s. Well fuck you tumblr!!! Rebjukebox!!
Ok, this is seriously fucked up. I became aware of this new “explore” feature yesterday, someone I follow mentioned it, I hadn’t even noticed it myself. I thought, ok, cool - a new feature, if it helps me find blogs that I’m interested in, thats great! So I checked it out, and had the same reaction as above. NO FUCKING MUSIC TAG… there was ART, MEDIA, TV, LITERATURE, FILM, even fucking POETRY I think… and shockingly, no fucking MUSIC! WHAT»» THE »»» FUCK !!!!!!!!
OK, so that seemed pretty lame - but I didn’t realize until now that the DIRECTORY is gone - and like the guy above said, now there is NO WAY AT ALL for me to find any music blogs… WELL HOW FUCKING CONVENIENT! THANKS TUMBLR!
this is seriously the first time I have been really pissed off at this site. I’m not actually one of those people that whine & bitch when tumblr is having its server issues, when it goes down, all that stuff. I actually made a post telling people that they shouldn’t expect flawless service when it is FREE - some would argue that point, but its besides the point - the point is that none of that shit bothered me. WELL THIS BOTHERS ME - IMMENSELY. If this problem isn’t rectified soon I will definitely be leaving tumblr.
Get your shit together, guys.
Cause I’ve posted fuck all recently, new Foo Fighters!
Today may be The King of Limbs’ day, but Yuck’s first album, released next Monday, is an early album of the year contender. But that’s because the album, just like me, is a child of the 90s.
The band is kind enough to host a stream on Soundcloud, so listen and then go buy it because it’s fucking great.
We (I) kinda forgot about them, but clumsily-named Scottish post-shoegazers (yeah, whatever) Glasvegas released a pretty good debut album three years ago. The follow-up is ready, is produced by 90s control button legend Flood and is out on April 3rd.
It looks like they’ve taken MIA’s cue for weird punctuation : it’s called EUPHORIC /// HEARTBREAK \, cos, yknow, arrows going up for euphoria and down for heartbreak. Deep and stuff.
First track’s here below, and it expands their sound while still keeping some sort of familiarity. Still no clue what he’s singing though.
Yay new Pearl Jam! Well, not really. But here’s a real rarity, unearthed yesterday on their Sirius/XM show : the original Matt Cameron demo of The Fixer, called Need to Know. Backspacer is by far my least favourite PJ record, but it’s always nice to hear demos and ideas, especially when you consider that the forthcoming Vs/Vitalogy reissue is very poor as far as rarities are concerned.
It’s been more than a year since Chris Cornell tweeted the return of Soundgarden. Just as soon as we thought it was already over, after a couple of gigs, a best of comp and a forthcoming live album, they dropped a bomb, annoucing on their official website they wrote some songs, are gonna record them and make an actual record. There’s a pretty big chance of fail, notably due to the fact Chris Cornell’s output in the last ten years was, well, crap. But what if magic happens again?
I picked a Soundgarden track at random, actually, but it’s a good pick. (Beyond the Wheel, Ultramega OK)
Please be good.
