Moral Mazes are a brand new band including Jonah Matranga (Far, onelinedrawing), J. Robbins (Government Issue, Jawbox, Burning Airlines), Jeff Dean (B9’s Dead Ending, All Eyes West) and Darren Zentek (Robbins’ other band, Office Of Future Plans). A spur-of-the-moment studio project at its finest, we’ll release their debut material in the form of a two-song release called Magic Tommy Jackson on 7” vinyl and digital formats September 2.
Alt-J is soon releasing their second album, which will be scrutinized by the whole music world, after the success of An Awesome Wave. So they decided to sample Miley Cyrus on the first single because why the fuck not?
So I’ve been quite busy these days, with my Music Box World Cup project over at my French language music blog. I’ll post a Spotify playlist pretty soon, but in the meantime, here’s what I missed these two weeks or so but still wanted to mention here.
First, a new White Fence track. No Ty Segall, still awesome.
Andy Falkous! One of my all time heroes! Frontman from Mclusky and Future of the Left, who now unleashes his “solo” project, Christian Fitness, which also features FoTL bass player Julia Ruzicka, who’s also Falco’s wife. Sounds like Falco, which is of course awesome.
Hey :) So 4 years ago I did a special thing for my (French language) blog. For every game in the football/soccer World Cup, I picked a video from an artist from each participating country. It was fun and made me (and hopefully others) discover new stuff.
